Here in Australia we have the nice well kept cinemas (Hoyts) and the crap cinemas (Greater Union). And they both will charge you 11-12 bucks for a ticket.

I was kinda surprised, even with student rates it's around $10 at that theater for the showtime I went to. Maybe it's because I finally got one of their crazy little club card things, but I REALLY doubt that would cut the price nearly in half.

We do however have another chain called Cineplex or something they only have 4 locations (ones an old Imax) but all the cinemas are fantastic and cost only $5 for students. Its $11 for their Gold Class.

Hoyts did a trial of their "gold class" for a while in a few cinemas down here, I think it is gone now though. The prices were ridiculous.

It doesn't look like that particular one has any near me. I remember there are 3 or 4 HUGE cinemas, or there were, I don't know if they are still around now. I'm not sure what they are/were called.

You have to get there early because tickets will sell out.
