I wish G4 would go back to being G4TechTV

My happiest day, as far as TV stuff goes, was when I found G4TechTV years and years ago. Finally, I thought, a channel for all the geeky stuff I could ever want! Video games, computers and tech news all in one great place. I'd come home from school and that was the first thing on the TV. Then not even a few years after the G4TechTV merger, all the good shows started going and were replaced with crap so that the channel could compete with SpikeTV . Cheaters, Cops, and The Man Show had and still have no place on G4. I understand why it happened but it sucks that it was the only channel of it's kind and then it was killed for the sake of ratings. Other channels have undergone significant changes but of the channels I used to watch (not watching too much TV nowadays), that's the only one that was completely thrown to the wolves. I just want my old favorite channel back

+1

Can't remember the last time I saw any "Arts" on A&E. I think it was in the 80's.

There a reason why I said "Of the channels I used to watch."

This is part of the reason I spend a lot of time on a select few tech forums.

Aaaaaaah, early to mid nineties Mtv, how I miss you! Celebrity Deathmatch, Beavis and Butthead, Say What Karoke(sp?), those crazy animation shows, imaginative music videos, and many others! While most kids my age watched Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, I was watching MTV, and I loved it.
(especially those late night spring break show where it was all a bunch of babes in tiny little bikinis dancing around)

I disagree. G4 should be changed to the 24=7 Olivia Munn in a thong-or less-TV.

I may be wrong since I haven't watched G4 for like, a long frikkin time, but didn't she leave AOTS? She was cute as hell, and I still remember the awesome giant pie/french maid thing they did, never would I have thought mixing the two could be so sexy, but she made it so.

Then there's this:YouTube - ‪Lesbionic Woman - G4tv.com‬‏ skip to 1:20 for awesome

Sorry, totally used to nerd crush on her

yeah she left which is a shame as she was entertaining as hell. the rest of their crew is doing a decent job, but she outshined them by a wide margin.

+1 on programming going to hell. sometimes i wonder if i'm just getting old and this is like an older generation saying the music of the new generation isn't as good.

i blame reality TV!

Used to watch G4 all the time, now it's cops and cheaters. Used to watch Sci-Fi, now they have wrestling (seriously, the only thing you can say to that is "what in the bloody hell were they thinking?"). A lot of. Channels went downhill. This is why I set my DVR to the good stuff and play bass innstead of getting sucked into the crap.

G4 originated from ZDTV. That was a great channel. Leo LaPorte was the man!

For those that liked TechTV go to Revision3. Tekzilla continues in a similar format to the Screen Savers. LifeHacker and Hak5 go further into the realm of geekdom.

The TWiT Netcast Network with Leo Laporte is podcast with Leo Laporte that features others people that include former TechTV staff. There are other podcasts that are hosted by some off the old staff as well.

Give me back the funny Xplay...that is all. I would actually rewatch episodes because they were so funny. Now it's like any other game review I can get online
