A distribution source for independant publishing (like zines), indie music labels and other diy crafts. Some of the more established distros include Pander Zine Distro and Moonrocket, though there are literally hundreds of distros worldwide. Generally speaking they don't turn much of a profit as stocking and selling their products is a labor of love, much as it is for those who create what they sell.
Additionally, the process for being distributed (or distro'ed) is much less formal than with conglomerate publishers - sometimes zinesters can just send in a note and a copy of their zine and, if the owner of the distro likes it, they'll agree to sell any number of copies.

The pricey part is acquiring the cleaning products and material necessary for heavy production. It is, however, within your reach if you're willing to invest a few bucks.
Sorry I have no precise numbers... all I know is that I had to pay 30$ + 100$ safety depot to use the small silk screening facilities at my Uni.

She is a graphic artist and can also fix creases and miscolored pics at a higher price. I can do it too, but no time or need.
Only took a scanner and pc. Not a lot of money mind you, but she makes an extra $200-$500 per month in her spare time and has enough work to keep her busy for the next 6 months at her pace. I get good cookies in return.
Honestly, fixing and framing one picture that this lady had was all the marketing she needed as she told 9 friends who told 9 friends and so on. |

I would just send a label an email telling them you have a distro and asking for a list for wholesale prices. Remember, only deal with indie labels. Ex: No Idea, Asian Man, Plan-It-X, Fat Wreck Chords, Art of the Underground, ect..
