Ok, so the two stupidest US citizens were released from Iran today. I hope they did not spend one nickel of my taxes on getting them out. Any US citizen dumb enough to hike for recreational purposes within 50 miles of the Iran border deserves to spend as much time in an Iranian prison as the Iranian authorities would like to sentence them to, IMHO. Maybe these two idiots would like to stroll along the North – South Korea border and see if the North Koreans are as hospitable as the Iranians. |

Whether thats true or not, I havent the slightest, but it does sound fishy.

-Mike | If they weren't liars, they were, as I said, the two most stupid US citizens in the world. Exactly how long would you think about hiking the Iranian border before you decided it was a bad idea? |

I'll admit, I was wondering if anyone would post something like "By God, they're Americans and they can walk anywhere they damn well want to!!" |

I have yet to hear a good explanation of what they were doing there.
I hope someone is at the airport to meet them with their SIGN!

"Ok, so the two stupidest US citizens were released from Iran today."
You sure there arent any stupider?
"I hope they did not spend one nickel of my taxes on getting them out."
No, the only spent mine, and maybe Dr. Cheeses.
"Any US citizen dumb enough to hike for recreational purposes within 50 miles of the Iran border deserves to spend as much time in an Iranian prison as the Iranian authorities would like to sentence them to, IMHO."
But 51 miles would be alright?
"Maybe these two idiots would like to stroll along the North – South Korea border and see if the North Koreans are as hospitable as the Iranians."
Maybe they are?
Im kidding, of course, about my responses.

But I am simply overwhelmed by two things: #1 Their extremely poor judgement / or extreme stupidity, and #2 the media painting them to be innocent young American tourists. I have no love for the radical government of Iran, but I can't fault them for throwing these dumbasses in jail. I know they were trying to use them for political gain, and that is not right either.
I guess I present things a little more like Sam Kennison than Ann Curry or Matt Lauer. But you'll never wonder where I stand on an issue. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
