Question If the Enterprise crew didint have to save Earth in Star Trek IV ?

Sign in to disble this ad
I was recently watching Star Trek IV on youtube and I was thinking if the situation was that Earth was not in danger and didint need to be saved from the probe do you think the Crew of the Enterprise would have gotten off as they did saving Spock when they came to Earth for Court Marshal? I highly doubt it. I think Star Trek IV would have been a film about the various Chracter envolved in saving Spock doing hard time in a penal/rehabilitative colony.

I think it would have been a film about the lead up to Spock's welcome home party. Lots of witty banter, a big cake...maybe a misunderstood hooker with a heart of gold who would teach Spock what the true meaning of Christmas was.

Don't think it would have done very well at the box office.

I've been trying to read this sentence for about 7 minutes.

Mind if I take it, I'll try to have it shortened for you by tomorrow.

If they didn't have to save the Earth, there wouldn't of been a Star Trek IV.

Sure there would have been, they had to answer for what they did in order to save Spock.

I think the senior officers, James Kirk and 'Bones' McCoy, would have been tried and convicted of crimes against the Federation and then sent off to the prison planet, Rura Penthe.

But that would just be ridiculous.

It would be as Rura Penthe is a Klingon Prison planet.

Dang, my timeline is all screwed up by watching ST TNG. I forgot that the Klingons are not part of the Federation until later.

I'm not worthy to bear the name "trekkie."

Fortunately.

And what if the Next Generation crew didn't travel back in time in First Contact? Or what if Kirk saved Edith Keeler life?
