If someone has a gun to your head and tells you to hand over your wallet, and says he will shoot you if you do not comply or if you make any noise, you would probably do it. If you follow this douche bag's logic, it's like you were just asking for it. I mean, you didn't fight back, right? Sure, you might've gotten a bullet to the brain, but that would demonstrate that you are not compliant.
How does this guy keep his job? Seriously. Does anybody know? I am legitimately curious. I need to land a gig where I can be completely negligent and still get paid. I am ashamed that our justice system has such a person enforcing our laws. I wonder what other rulings he has "interesting" views on. |

The short answer is there are enough constituents in his district that agree with him to keep him in office. The long answer would be construed as a violation of forum policy.

I don't care if a woman or man dresses or acts in a manner suggesting they " want it " or are easy ,no means NO...
Man or woman it's theirs to give and no ones to take... | True, but he will no longer get any rape or cases similar at that court. The prosecution knows him and schedules the dockets accordingly.
You have the right to request another judge, one with a brain, common sense, compassion and some ethical knowledge.
There are ways to avoid such nuts at this local level.

Quite frankly, I think this little gadget has some merit. http://frimminjimbits.blogspot.com/2...-medieval.html

The man also beat her with a metal baton and made violent threats before committing rape and forcing oral copulation."
This information alone makes it absolutely baffling that this moron would DROP 10 years from the sentence. If anything he should have ADDED at least 10 more years. This man does not deserve to sit on the bench; and the perp does not deserve to see the light of day for a long, long time...

I'm guessing the judge in question is elected rather than appointed, that's the system in some states. As politics get polarized, you'll have more extreme views coming into the courts.

I think most of these people don't really care what they say, as ridiculous as it may be; they just say it because they saw it on fox news or their preacher said something or they can't be caught changing their perspective so they have to make up absurd **** to keep hold their convictions no matter the cost. I don't know, man. Something like that. It just seems truly and honestly crazy that some people really stand behind these types of ignorant, stupid statements and ideals. It blows my mind. |

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Oct 2012 Location: Brisbane, Australia | | | There were a couple of cases like this in Australia about 5 or 6 years ago, and there was a huge public outcry about them. In one case, multiple rapists first beat a girl unconscious, and the judge said that since she wasn't awake, she didn't actually experience the rape. For this he dramatically reduced their sentences. That case was overturned and the judge was fired. Another judge made some stupid comments about the girl wearing provocative clothing - "she was asking for it" was basically what he said. He copped so much grief he was forced to retire.
I wish I was surprised by this sort of thing, but some of these judges are so old they probably got married the old-fashioned way: clubbed the first girl who walked past and dragged them into their cave. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
