I respect Jaco, but my choice would have to be James Jamerson.

Definitely Jaco. My #2 pick would be Mingus.

I would have to say Jaco or maybe Lafaro. Everybody already said Jaco and Jamerson, so I would add Lafaro, because he showed so much promise at such a young age and did not abuse drugs.

Nate Mendel, when he joined the Foo Fighters his playing pretty much died.

Cliff.

John Entwhistle had a long, luxurious musical career. He made his contribution to the world of music over and over again.

Jaco turned into a drug fiend and wasted his life away with his addictions. Sorry Jaco fans, he was talented and skilled and unequaled in his ability, but I think very lowly of people who ruin their lives with their addictions.

Cliff was taken by a careless accident, and was robbed of his long life. He was the strongest force in the MetallicA writing camp, and his material was only starting to leave an impact on the music community.

My vote goes for Cliff.

I'd just take the extra life and give Tony Levin another 70 years or so.

My vote goes to Cliff also, he went out way too soon.
