If you could spend one day with anyone from/in history, who would it be?

If you could spend one day with anyone from/in history, who would it be? why?

Would you like to be in their time period when you spend that day with he/she?

I'm not to sure yet myself as to the answer, so I'll let you guys start.

Let me be the first, though I'm sure not the last, to say Jesus. Just to have a chance to talk to one man who's had such a significant impact on world history would be thrilling and interesting. (I'm leaving any religious ideas or implications out of this so as to avoid controversy.)

Second choice might be Hitler, just to see if I could try to figure out what the Hell was going on inside that head of his (and to ask about the ridiculous mustache ).

Others on the list:

Socrates
Aristotle
Ausgustine
Thomas Aquinas
Mohammed
Gallileo
Jack the Ripper
Thomas Jefferson
Einstein
Britney Spears

And, of course, Shakespeare (just to ask him if he actually wrote any of the plays that bear his name)

Of course, since I'll never get the chance, I'll ask the good folks of TB:

What's up with that ridiculous mustache, anyway?

if i could spend only one day in this life , with someone from history ....
... hmmm, it's gotta be Jesus Christ ... the living man , Son of God .

i'd also prefer that this meeting could be in the present time , at a place to be decided ...

maybe he could answer some of my darkest questions about myself , life and death ...

jmo.

Can I just point out that you must 100% un-deniably prove that the person existed to begin with. Not a flame, but if he didn't exist then you can't meet him, correct?

Personally, I'd probably meet Hitler. For reasons obvious to some.

Genghis Khan. I don't think I need to explain why.

well, if I'm reading thru the lines correctly, and I believe I am, I think that JC existed. Is JC the son of God or not, I can't say one way or the other. He certainly has affected peoples lives though in numerous ways.

I'm leaning towards DaVinci. I'd be a lot happier if I had about a week and could schedule one person a day, but, that's not my question.

Lol. Thats pretty stupid. Theres a difference between existing and walking on water etc.

And out of all geniuses there have been through the times you choose to meet the idiot that tried to take on whole europe and ended up taking the life of himself and his family?

Whats so funny with hitler is that behind all his crap about Arians beeing the "master race", tall, blonde, blue eyed you got this little darkhaired, brown eyed fellow with a moustache, that might even have had jewish ancestry.

What I mean is can you even prove that he existed as a person, and was not created by someones imagination?

I don't even mean the whole walking on water thing, just that he ever even existed. There is no way of proving that the whole book was simply written by someone for whatever reason, just can't tell.

Demon I agree with you about the opposing views with his own appearance, it's a little strange. But I want to know what he was like as a person. Very well educated apparently.

Vorago - Darwin is someone I would also like to meet.

I believe there are Roman records that prove that Jesus, as a person, existed.

Most historians acknowledge that Jesus was a real person, mayhem. It's not just "whacky Christians dreaming it up."

I believe that Hitler actually had a jewish grandmother who he killed during his escapades throughout Europe.

And yes, I do believe that Jesus existed and he may have done some cool things, but as a Jew, I do not believe that he was the son of good. Either way he wouldn't be a bad person to meet.

I would probably go with Davinci myself, because he was so incredibly intelligent and innovative as well as probably somewhat crazy.
-Alex

p.s. I've also heard that Hitler was a pretty good artist and tried to get into an American art school before WWII. Unfortunately they rejected him, so who knows what could have happened or could have not happened I guess had he been accepted. Not sure if this is 100% true, but it sounds possible.

I'd spend one day with Jaco. I'd probably pick the day when he did drugs and then went on stage, and ask him why he did that, knowing that he'll die soon if he doesn't stop. Or I'll spend a day with Paris Hilton.

If you guys are taking it that he did exist then I'd love to go back and show him a nice future invention, The Flail! I'd even set up a nice demo for him.
