What would YOU do with $20,000? | I've always loved working with wood and off and on I have built/modded/rebuilt basses over the past 10 years or so. I think I'd take 20 grand and invest in all the shop tools, jigs, and handy gadgets I don't already have, maybe some decent tone woods and neck wood and start building basses on a part time basis, see if I can build a business for my old age which is swiftly approaching. Would you buy a bass from this man?

The market is down right now. Housing will go back up, and while it does, you can cover your ongoing expenses with rent.

Not only a wise investment (as you know, the planets dying and all), but you come back with more knowledge and life experience than investing in any material item will ever teach you, and you'll probably realise you don't need that big house or new car anyway when you come back.
