Whom? Why? I know what the bumper stickers say, but that seems fairly short sighted.

...yourself for being easily convinced that you are really free.

PS. I have no idea what the bumber sticker says, i've never heard the phrase before.

Thank a veteran. You've probably never seen it because you were the first peoples we freed ourselves from.

London is in NZ?? Well, I suppose there's one in Ontario too.

Back about the mid 16th century, the British colonies in North America got sick of paying taxes.

There was a bit of an altercation, some dudes wearing wigs wrote a few documents, and we now go by the good old U.S.A.

It would be a mistake to assume that just because someone lives in country X, they are a citizen of country X.

OH yeah, well, I guess in the USA, those who feel the need to say such things should probably use the correct bumber sticker:

If you value your freedom, thank the French.

I high five the French every chance I get. Mostly because their mustard is awesome, but freedom's a good reason, too.

We thanked the french, gave them money, sent our best wig-earing guys over to hang out with them, fought against them, and against them again, and in one memorable war fought both for and against them, and after that took over for one of their wars that wasn't going so well, which was disastrous.

I'm not thanking the french for anything in the last two hundred years except the cafe press.

I owe my freedom to American veterans, thanks.

I'm curious as to why thanking a veteran for our freedom is short-sighted in unrepresented's view. It seems obvious to me.

The French have the same thing that says: "If you value speaking French thank the Americans."

…Other than thank the typical apathetic American voter
As a veteran of war that I am, I can appreciate all the hardships our veterans endured (prior and future) Every night my family wraps themselves in the security blanket of their sacrifices and I am forever in their debt .
Thank You for your service to our country.

Probably because there are so few veterans who actually fought to defend America are still alive.

I think this thread should be deleted before someone sparks some political debate.
