My friends girlfried has been using his last name recently. It was on her W-2 and just used it when she enlisted in the national guard. |

When my wife and I got married 17 years ago, the Social security people and the IRS people were merging databases. My wife had gone to the Social security office and had the name change done, but her maiden name ended up in the database after the merge.
When we went to file income taxes, we got notice that her name did not match the one on the Social Security card and could not be processed. So she had to go and get it changed over again.
It could make them late with filing taxes (we filed early so, no problems) and have to pay penalties and such. And cause a big stink when they realize that they aren't married and have to correct everything back to her actual last name. |

Also their ovens are portable and double as a great place to store things. It's only illeagal if you start putting things in their oven too early or without the girls permission, because after all cooking the food, fried or not fried, is ultimately their job. |

| | | | Dunno 'bout where you are, but in Kansas, that sort of action make you married by common law, jointly responsible for taxes, etc, unable to get remarried without a divorce, and subject to alamony and/or support.
FWIW... |
