The fuel pump crapped out for the second time! I just put one in last October! I'll head back to the junkyard tomorrow to pick up another one, but I'll wait until Sunday to install it, when it should be cooler. It's not a very difficult job, but the hard part is dropping the gas tank, since GM in their infinite wisdom decided to put the fuel pump in the gas tank (idiots!). Luckily the last time I did it I smeared some anti-seize compound on all the bolts, so I won't be struggling with rusty bolts this time. Also, luckily for me the pump decided to die when the car was in my driveway, so I didn't have to get it towed home.
That's the thing with an old car. Sure, you save money, but sometimes you have to get your hands dirty!
