Probably posted this somewhere else but it'sstill playing on my mind.
Some of you might remember that I posted a thread a while or so ago about how it was suspected I had the hormonal defect Cushing's Syndrome.
Well that diagnosis has all but been confirmed by a speciallist doctor. But what has added to my fears and is plaguing my mind is that it is almost certainly being caused by a tumour. They are unsure as to where it might be but it is likely on my kidneys or on the base of the brain.
I will also have to undergo some pretty nasty surgery and then have another month or so of treatment before they know that I am cured.
The fact that it could be a tumour is really scary.

If it's on your pituitary, most likely be treated with meds because it's usually a benign tumor.
At least you 'll get treated and resolve a lot of medical problems caused by Cushing's. It's better to know then not to.
Stay strong.
Good luck. |

Another possibility is that once the Cushing's is resolved, it may affect your thyroid as well. Keep an eye on your thyroid numbers. |

| | That's the way uh huh uh huh I like it.. | | Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Robbinsville, NJ | | | Having faced some major surgery myself this past April, I can tell you this - although it's exceedingly hard to do, you MUST focus on getting better and fighting this. You have to tell yourself:
"OK, I may have this serious problem, I may not, but my main goal right now is working with the doc(s) as a part of a team. I'll do my best to not focus on the fear, but focus on what I need to do right now to get better. I'll worry about the frightening aspect of it all later."
Listen, I know that this sounds a bit silly but all I can say is that it worked for me. I faced a situation where my death was a real possibility, and it's terrifying. I got through it by putting the fear aside as best as I can an refocusing on what I needed to do to beat it. That's what you have to do right now. What else can you do?

I know quite a few people who almost never get sick, because they refuse to allow themselves to get sick. I myself only get sick maybe once every two years, mostly due to a healthy lifestyle and an adamant will to not succumb to germs.
Fear is the mind killer. Don't be afraid, work with your doctors, and refuse to give in to fear. |
