After spinning my wheels with the Biotech job market in New England, my nephew and I decided to regroup in Grand Forks, North Dakota for the winter. It's freezing cold already!
I had an interview with Best Buy today. I have a final interview scheduled for next week. It's not biotech, but it is work.
I'll have to rebuild my music gear sometime in the future, as I had to sell everything off to keep things going.
I hope to be in my own apartment this month and have internet service by next month. I'll try to check in more often!
Mike

Mike | You're less than 2 hrs away from some of us! I think South Dakota got hit harder than us here in Cold Canada! BTW, I always liked Margarite's Music down there!

It's a mostly rain slop thing that's going on outside right now. Ick.

-Mike | From what I've heard, BBs are starting to put in guitar departments. Prolly betting on the assumption that people will want to play REAL guitar after playing rock band/guitar hero. |

So I'll be able to get a Roscoe or a Nordstrand at my local BB soon, eh?

-Mike | Think Guitar Center, complete with the pimply teenagers whose incentive to keep their job is to load you up with accessories you don't really need. |

Yes, the winters are pretty extreme, and it's because of the continental weather system being in the exact center of the continent. To my experience, and I've lived all over the USA, some in Calgary, and over in Finland and Germany... while harsh, it's a different kind of cold because it's dry. I think the dryness allows the temperature to fall lower without feeling it so much. It's a different cold than here in the humid south where I live now. With a wet cold, you feel that more in your bones, so the suffering happens faster even on a "warm" number.
