A repsonse to an ad for a drumkit. I get these stupid things all the time.

Hello
I really appreciate your response to my email. I want you to consider it
sold to me, please kindly withdraw the advert from craigslist to avoid
disturbance.I want you to know that i will be paying via bank
certified check. and i will like you to provide me with the following
information to facilitate the mailing of the check to your location.

1.....Full name to write on the check
2.....Full Physical address to post the check
3.....City, State and Zip Code
4.....Home & Cell Phone to contact you

*** Note that the payment will be shipped to your address via NEXT
DAY SERVICE and I will like you to know that you will not be
responsible for shipping, i will have my mover company to come over to
your location when you have my payment in hand **

I have become CL smart. I have sold locally several $Thousand in ampeg cabs and other stuff. When I get an email that questioned my price (810 for $400) or tried to trade , I moved on to the next person. Its tricky but in my situation I had to move stuff fast to make room in my home.the respone you got for your drumkit was totally asinine. What I did when things weren't going fast enough I pulled my original ad and re-worded it saying"local only, no tire kickers" . I happened to meet a local (S. Fla ) TBer that bought some of my stuff (including a drum kit) . I say pull the ad and cool it off for a week and then put it back again, maybe that will attract local $$$ buyers and not scammers. Best of luck ..............................

Stinsok,

I recommend finding your local FBI agent that handles internet fraud. The reply back to the sender with HIS information.

I always just say to send the check. Haven't gotten one yet though.

I have a simple response: "Meet me with cash only."

Or, if I feel less charitable: "Get lost, scammer."

I think CL has a forum so you can post your "I'm leaving" thread there. I don't know if they ban you for posting those type of threads like they do here.
