I'm really psyched about the DNC coming to Denver

Just wondering if anybody has lived in a city and experienced either one of the politcal conventions. I'm not being political, but I think this could be the most dramatic Democratic National Convention in America's history and it's happening in my city. I'm really excited to witness this one - of course, I hope nothing really freaky happens, no violence, etc. It's pretty amazing to hear on the local news, all these protester groups that are coming and where they are "assigned" to be. I think it's going to be controversial, to say the least.

Plus, you would think bands would be in greater demand, temporarily.

I'm pretty sure there will be some violence. There's been a "Re-create '68" group that's been openly planning for months to go to the convention merely to cause trouble.

FWIW, I lived in Chicago during the violent 1968 Democratic convention. I was a kid though, so I didn't completely grasp what was going on at the time when I watched it on the news.

First Presidential Election year with no commentary from Dr. Thompson (HST). What a sad thought.

In pre-lock

I just love to dip my toes into the warm swirling waters of a soon-to-be-closed flame-fest. BTW(& this is meant to be comedic, NOT political), I'm writing in Jon Stewart for Emperor.
