Infinity G37 or Audi A4?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, I've had an awesome job for a while now, and I just got approved for an auto loan for up to 40k, but it has to be new. I'm thinking a mid-sized sedan. Any recommendations?
thanks

Just because you were pre-approved for $40,000 doesn't mean you have to or should spend $40,000.

Mid-sized sedan screams Honda Accord to me. There are many others and they don't cost $40,000. That's a lot of money for a car. Have you thought about used? You can save a lot by getting something 1-2 years old of a lease, etc.

We're Bass players here, none of us can afford $40k cars. Might want to try a different website.

Why on earth would you spend 40,000 on a new car when you can spend under 10,000 on a used one?

2005/2006 BMW M3? Used of course.

They go for roughly 30k. You get a nice, powerful, luxurious car; and aren't exactly breaking the bank as far as spending all that you're approved for.

Get two. A mazda miata for fun and a chevy hhr panel to haul your bass gear around.

Seriously isn't 40k a little excessive?

yeah, it's a little excessive, but my job is really secure, I have very little debt, and I've always wanted a brand new nice car...
plus it will be good for the economy

Audi A4 - great cars. If you can get one with a manual.

I like the looks of Audis, but are they roomy inside, or kind of cramped? I'm not a big guy, but my girlfriend drives a Buick Century, and I've grown accustomed to big cars.

I drive Audi A3 and there is a lot of room inside. Fits easily all my gear and even the double bass is easy to load.

Sweet cars definitely, would highly recommend Audi.
Good luck.

VW tdi wagon, or its Audi A3 twin. Nice car, good mileage, great bass-player cargo capacity.

Edit: see the above comment. He beat me to it.

Things sure do change. Forty years ago my father bought a new VW Beetle for under $2000; twenty years ago I bought a four bedroom house with two full baths on 1/2 acre for $48,000. Mercy, things do change.

In what sense? The new car, that he's going to be making payments on as if it were worth 40k, isn't going to be worth the money he's paying toward it the moment he drives it off the lot.

I don't see the point in making payments on new cars, especially when the economy is such that you can find a killer deal used.

But, you know, if its important to you that you drive a new car, don't let someone you don't know talk you out of it.

That's nice. Let me know when you find the equivalent of a $40,000 in a proper condition without horrendous miles for under $10,000.

Buying used is fine but a statement like "why buy new for 40 when you can buy used for 10" is ridiculous.

I'd go with an A3.

My first thought as well.

I wouldn't spend 40k on a car without watching the last season of Top Gear though.
