Influenza at my school

Apparently there is an outbreak of flu at my college. Class sizes dwindled significantly, and I heard kids were being sent home to recover and a few to the hospital with complications. There's a rumor flying around that if the number of cases reaches a certain point, the state dept. of health will step in and quarantine the school for a certain amount of days.

What really irks me is how some people are sick, yet still go out to the bars and clubs (tightly packed, poorly ventilated areas) and hook up with random people. Furthermore, there was a kid in one of my classes who was visibly sick, pile of kleenex on his desk and all, and coughing and sneezing WITHOUT covering his mouth.

I've heard so many kids whining and complaining about this flu outbreak, but so little who are being proactive (washing hands, avoid going out, cover coughs/sneezes). No wonder the damn thing is spreading so fast. I go to school with a bunch of selfish, self-serving idiots.

There's a pretty intense flu outbreak at my school, although maybe not quite on that scale. Most of my dorm is or has been sick, and my classes have been a lot smaller lately. I was fortunate enough to have only a slight cold towards the beginning of the period when everyone started getting sick, and I haven't had anything else.

I have been sick for the last week and I am proactive about not getting sick. Sometimes it just happens. Didn't help that I was working in some very poor parts of Mexico last week so that didn't help.

Theres been a brutal head cold going around my school for this week. I got hit with it at the beggining. I missed the frist day of the week. It felt like strepth throat, but no aching and no fever, just a very sore throat, coughing, and a completly painful sinus headache. Still going around too. I had 4 substitute teachers one day. I love to mess with subs!
