Good place to go for a dip, make sure you get your whole foot in the water.

There's a waterfall near here called "Pissing Mare Falls."

Possibly named after Dorking in Surrey here in the UK. There's small town in the north called Thwing.

There's a ghost town near Death Valley called Ballarat, named after the city in Australia. It always makes my inner-Beavis & Butthead chuckle.

In Puerto Rico, there is an avenue fagot.

Now before you go saying PR is a island of homophobes, it was name after Emilio Fagot, who was the mayor of the city of Ponce in the late twenties:

"Yippee kiyay" is probably a bastardized, truncated version of the line "yippee yi yo kiyay" from the song "I'm an Old Cowhand," popularized by Bing Crosby in the '30s. It really pisses me off every time I hear "yippee kiyay," because I think some semi-literate screen writer remembers hearing something like that and didn't do his homework to get the line right.

Strictly speaking, I live in (deep breath) Krungthepmahanakhon Amonrattanakosin Mahintharayutthaya Mahadilokphop Noppharatratchathaniburirom Udomratchaniwetmahasathan Amonphimanawatansathit Sakkathattiyawitsanukamprasit, but most people know it as Bangkok.

The UK has plenty of oddities - Wetwang, Beaumont cum Moze, Stiffkey, Black Notley, Upper Dicker and Shitterton for example.

OK, I remember another one from my travels...just outside the small town of Waverly OH as you travel down US 23 there is a sign announcing 'Pee Pee Creek'. There was also a 'Pee Pee Gas' filling station, though it's been a while and I'm not sure if it is still there.

What I think makes that even more confusing is that two of those roads are South routes in different directions and one is a West Route in the opposite direction of a South route.

When I lived in Columbus OH, my office was in a bank on the corner of Gay and High.
