This is a great video, I know it well. This is on the list of things I tell every new carry permit holder to watch (the video is not specific to just that situation, but the point is well-made).

Once you are involved in an incident where you have any chance of blame coming your way (e.g. self-defense), the police are NOT on your side, and you need to remember that regardless of how happy you may be to see them or scared you may be.

Right behind my carry permit in my wallet are two business cards. Both are for lawyers I know and trust.
