Internet Couples Club/Thread

As usual with any club, I don't know if this has been done already. If it has, I will simply bump that one and delete this one. However, having done a brief search, I didn't find anything exactly relevant to this, so...here we go.

My case is probably unique (and I'd be very surprised if it was not), as I met my SO...*pauses for suspense*

Here. Her name is Bett, and she also uses that handle on these forums (shameless plug: we met originally on the UTBC!) We live 8 and a half hours apart, but on the twelfth, I made the drive from Virginia Beach, VA to Connecticut to meet her. Pictures and great times have since resulted.

I am still in Connecticut at the moment, and I plan to be moving up here very, very soon (as in, within the month.

)

At any rate, any others here who met their SOs online?

I have never dated a girl I met online. I did recently tell an old friend my feelings for her over facebook. I felt like a shmuck, but she is in Budapest right now with limited phone usage. It ended up working in my favor, we are going to give it a shot when she gets back!

My roommate met his girlfriend online, theyve been together a little over 3 years now.

Tried the internet couples thing. Honestly, and this is pure honesty, every last one failed. Starts out great, better than anything, everyone's happy, guy makes some stupid mistake that girl deems unforgivable, chord on relationship is cut. Rinse and Repeat.

My wife and I met on the internet on April 14th, 2000 and got married at the Drive Through Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 14, 2001. When I met her, I had just purchased my first computer. We were at a friends house and his son was in a chat room. His son showed me how that chat room works so I thought it would be fun to mess with people and anger them because they would not know who I was or where I lived. My wife was on the same chat room because her friend's boyfriend was in England at the time and to save on the long distance calls, they all chatted in this free chat room. I started a private chat with my wife to mess with her and anger her but could not do so. We ended up talking for around 2 hours and hit it off right away. We then exchanged e-mail addresses and wrote each other as friends. We had no intentions of hooking up but we then sent each other pictures of one another to put a face to who we were talking too and then we began talking on the phone. One thing led to another and in December she moved to San Diego with her two kids. We then married 1 year to the day that we met in Vegas. We have been together ever since and it has honestly been the best years of our lives. We now have 4 kids and are each others best friend. It was a total chance meeting on each others part but we are so thankful for the fact that we met.

I met my ex online. Through friends. She is my ex now, however. But it wasn't so bad.

My current girlfriend I just met through friends.

This thread is also just an excuse to brag about how you have a girlfriend you met in Connecticut.

I look forward to much more awesome stories here. I'm kind of grateful that she and I had the time to talk at a distance and develop our relationship MINUS the physical aspect. It's made the physical aspect's introduction that much better, IMO, and reality is such an improvement over talking on the internet (/obvious).
