I didn't see a thread for this and had some questions.
So I have my iPod Touch and iPad updated to iOS5. How long does it take to back up to iCloud? My iPad sat there for 20 minutes and it was still estimating the time remaining . . .
Also, I understand that my iCal will update wirelessly to iCloud and sync between my iPod and iPad, but how will the iCal on my MacBook Pro be updated? Will I have to sync it with the cable? Not a problem if I do, but I would like to know. |

I love the split keyboard option on the iPad.
I also like the swipe down notification center, and the pop up notifications.
The iMessage app is great too. |

I've used the same iTunes user ID for years, but that's not good enough, now I need to create yet another account in order to use their cloud service. I guess I'll get over it but I don't understand why this should be a requirement. |

My iPhone synced wirelessly today, and I thought it was awesome.

No trouble here. I'm not backing up my entire phone to the cloud, but do have the photo/contacts, my calendars, etc. set up for it and it seems to be working fine. for photos, it seems to upload instantaneously.
Also I tried the find my iPhone on the cloud and it worked well and quickly too.

You can't even sign up for one any more IIRC.

The swipe into an app is pretty sweet...
...and I really like the new reminder feature. I set up one tonight to remind me to call for jury duty once I got home (using the locate rather than a time) and it worked perfectly.

My son, daughter and I have iPhones. My wife has an iPad.
If I use iCloud, can I pick what I want to DL for each device from each device.
OR
Does the cloud automatically download every thing to each device? |

Can't guarantee it since I haven't enabled iCloud at this point (but I did sign up to get the account).
Later

That is not good. What am I doing wrong? |

Took my 64G iPad2 about 5 hours to backup to the Cloud.
After all was said and done, I now have a nagging syncing problem. |

| | The Lowdown Diggler | | Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Huntington Beach, CA | | | I friggin' hate this thing. My iphone lost all of it's apps. Then I had to redownload, and rebuild my iphone, and reorganize everything. Then when I opened up my ipad it had a bunch of apps from my iphone on there, including apps that I had bought, and long ago deleted from my iphone. I also had to turn off a bunch of stuff. I have all kinds of photos on my phone that I don't want to suddenly pop up on my iPad when my wife, or son are using it, or worse yet, when I'm using my ipad for work (since it is a device given to me by my school). Same goes for that new imessage thing. There are MANY conversations that I want to stay on my phone. What I'm left with, is a jumbled mess on both devices. Lots of messy management. This would be great, if both my iPad and my iPhone were personal devices, but since they're not, it's an extra pain in the @$$ that caused me to lose an evening and part of my day yesterday. I'm still not sure I wrestled this thing to the ground yet. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
