Iphone restore directory

I know this is a shot in the dark, but does anyone know where to find the iPhone restore file on a PC running Windows 7? It seems my PC hates my iPhone and will not restore it. It keeps coming up with error 14, which is a USB error, but all other USB things work great. I can restore it on another computer, but I really want to restore it from my last backup which has all my contacts. Any help would be great, I have been googleing around for two hours and I am not getting anywhere.

I managed to copy the files over to another computer and restore that way. Thanks for your help.

Did you also make a backup copy of that and other relevant files as a hedge against future loss?

Yep, backed it up on another computer. I wish my mac was current enough to run the iOS 4 software, then I wouldn't have to worry about this. My PC hates my iPhone, seeing as my PC works great with everything else I plug into it, that is the conclusion that I have to come up with.

A little off topic but do you know if you can get at your photos too? I hate having to e mail them to myself.

I just sync them with the photo library on my computer.
