iPod To PC Software Help?

I've just bought a new laptop.

So I've re-imstalled iTunes, and now need to move my library across to it.

There seems to be loads of sofware available to help with the job, and to make managing iTunes in the future - but can anybody suggest which one to go for?

I tried a free one, which was terrible...spent ages transfering, but didn't actally put it in iTunes!

So any ideas as to which one is the best bet? Help!

Tried one track, and that worked....better than another demo yesterday that did nothing at all!

I was really hoping for this kind of software - just plug it in and go....and hey presto, instant library.....any other thoughts??

its not necessarily free, but anapod explorer is a program that will let you load and unload files without the use of itunes. it wont automatically start up and eat your memory when you plug in an ipod either. you can select and drag back and forth between your hdd and ipod. download fubar (free) for music playback and youre good. this is how i manage my ipods. i do not have itunes on any of my computers.
