I have a 30GB photo from like 2 or 3 years ago. One of my wife's acquaintances saw it and said "Wow! That looks like my Grandmother's iPod" meaning that it's so BIG and out-dated looking.
So my question is this...since they come out with new iPods like every 3-4 months, what happens to the ones from the times of yore that don't sell? Do they get destroyed or can you get a NOS iPod for cheap?
Also, I have an opportunity to buy a used 30GB photo just like my wife's, can I load & register it on my iTunes? or is it non-transferrable?

With those, who knows, but I know of no authorized dealer that can sell those below Apple's price. So if you're buying one for less, either it's not new, or it's not Apple authorized.
Do you really need a new model? Do you need more storage, do you NEED to watch TV and movies on your iPod? The old models are just as great, and I only upgrade due to storage space, not much else.
