Ipod Touch - Why not??

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm about to pull the trigger on a Ipod Touch 16GB. While I'd like the bigger one, I can't justify the cost.

Aside from being an mp3 player, I like the added contact/calendar/wifi/picture features. Video and games are cool, but will likely rarely be used. Work pays for my phone, and I don't want to pay for iphone service, so that's not an option.

Anything else that I should be considering? Any other good options? Talk me out of buying this.

Buy one. Do it. Do it now. I use the browser all the time, and the video is pretty great...you think you won't use it or the games but you will. The app store's free games/apps are really nice and fun to use.

That's certainly a concern, but I can't kick down for the 32GB.

Isn't the classic 120 a hard drive and not flash? Everything I've found says run from the hard drive....

I got the Ipod Classic for Xmas. Love it. 120GB. I put almost my entire CD collection on it - over 1,000 songs so far - and have only used a little over 4 GBs. Can't imagine using the full 120. No I am not going to download movies. That's why I have a Blue Ray and a 46" inch TV. The touch is very cool looking and 16 GB would be lots for just music. IMO.

While true in a literal sense, I highly doubt that one could regularly, on a day by day basis, listen to more music than you can hold in 16 Gigs. I have 50 gigs of music, and about 20 of it on my 30G iPod video, and of that I probably only listen to less than half of that within a week or two. You dont need to carry your entire library with you because it's impractical. Just swap out your music.

To the OP - go with the iTouch - it's great, and there's not much out there that compares.

I really, really love my Touch. My entire campus has Wi-fi, so I can use Safari to check my email or look things up anywhere without having to lug around my laptop, just the little iPhone in my pocket. I've got a 32 gig model, but it's only a little over half full, which says a lot considering that I like to put full-length movies on it, so unless you like to carry around an absolutely massive library, 16 gigs ought to be plenty of space.
