It'll be interesting to see the product of more research into this new treatment method.

Absolutely incredible.

I can't help but wonder how expensive that treatment's going to be IF it ever gets put into mainstream use.

Who CARES how much it costs, if this can be implemented in mainstream use, it will drop in cost, and it will save so many lives, and so much pain and suffering.

Stunningly amazing. Just wonderful.

Dr. Atala's lab is 3 floors up from my wife's office. She is involved in the training of people that will eventually do this kind of work.

Fascinating, incredible stuff, and my wife is assisting in helping it get to you, which makes me very proud of her.

This is the reason I initially wanted to get into the field of medical research. I worked at Harvard Medical in the early 80s and witnessed "big business", egos and red tape get in the way of honest (pure?) research... it killed my interest although I may also have been a tad too naive and idealistic.

It's good to see that some individuals can work their way through all of that and make some real breakthroughs.

I don't see why it couldn't be implemented in mainstream use and I was thinking along the same lines you are. That it would eventually drop in price, but this is medical field we're talking about, the price could actually skyrocket rather than drop.

The price is also somewhat important, because there are going to be people that cannot afford the treatment and will subsequently still wind up dying from their burn wounds.

I don't care how effective it is if the majority of people cannot have access to something like this, because if they can't, then it, to some extent, renders it useless.
