sadly, there are far worse names than Like. At least the kid could go by the nickname Ike.

meh.. that's not so bad. I mean the reasoning is goofy but the name itself is no better or worse than any other. It may actually have a neat ring to it when you factor in that they're speaking Hebrew.
how many names do we have here that actually have a mundane meaning in a different language?

Yup. Somehow, it doesn't sound absolutely awful.

For what it's worth, I mostly think their reasonings are unusual. Name after a Facebook function? It's innovative?

I think so. Maybe my first child will be 'Status'. I kind of like the sound of it.

BTW, when this kid is an adult it could be worse than that Winger tattoo you got on your lower back in the 80's.

Well, yeah, of course because in this instance it's true. I'm just talking about the rest of humanity.

My friends brother is named Status, he's like 25 or something, and plays the steel pan.

Nope, no joke there at all. I really know someone named Status, and he was named such long before the masses were using the net for social networking purposes.

While my first name (François) means French of course, the latin root translates to free man.
My son loves his name (Georges) but he was angry when I told him that it meant farmer, linked to the soil.
