I don't know if this guy's figures are correct but if he's drawing attention to this horrific problem he shouldn't be apologizing. |

If it was part of a serious attempt to address the problem by raising awareness, then he shouldn't have to apologize. If it was used to express contempt for the Philippines and its appeal, then he should. The article doesn't indicate enough about how and why he said it.

I only hope that next time the OP chooses a site that's better organized and doesn't intentionally exclude key information regarding context as a lame way to increase hits on their other news articles. **** Bing.

I was too young to understand sex trafficking, but it was obvious even to a child that the Phillipines was society dominated by the US, and that earlier Spanish traditions were powerful too. I suspect that foreign influence plus the traditional of sexual independence for women in several SE Asian societies allows for a culture were commercial sex is tolerated or even legal.
