It's a full moon *right now*. What "lunacy" do you see?

For me, the full moon most often manifests itself in the behavior of train passengers. The conductors themselves have told me that they see the same thing. 'Nuf said.

But I also see it in my own emotional states. And I see it in the profiles of the people who walk on the waterside trail outside my window. In this case, people walking under a full moon more often have *one* child and/or one pet -- people i never see during other times of the month.

So what behaviors do you regularly see in correspondence to a full moon?

Warewolves.

Nah. Though the already stupid drivers around here seem to get stupider on full moon nights.

I personally dont recall anything at the moment. But I do believe the moon has an effect on this world and its inhabitants. Perhaps someone seen me tonight... Walking around a mostly empty parking lot... Talk out loud as I have my head pointed to the sky. If I seen myself.. I would I was a luni..

I will keep my eyes open now though... I have very stressed lately. Not in the get up and deal with work stress, not the sickness stress, but definitely internal. That could be throwing off my chi and interest in observing people.

I used to work in a bank branch in a not-so-nice part of town and wow, did the full moon really bring out the crazy in people. I never believed that the moon would have that much impact on people, but I am a firm believer now.

I use the phases of the moon to track cyclical mood changes in my partner.

eg. Man! Why am I getting yelled at for doing the dishes? That just doesn't make any sense. <checks moon> Ah, full moon; now I get it.

Its the new moon one has to be careful of. What's it doing while we can't see it? Something nefarious, no doubt.

I used to work at a counseling center at a hospital. Full moon was when we got all the crack-pot phone calls. We were right next to the ER and it just went crazy every full moon.

I, personally, stay inside to avoid the werewolves. :-)

I raced road bicycles for a lot of years and there was often a lot more broken glass on the street at full moon. Probably still is but with a busted knee and 30lbs extra I wouldn't know.

I've been a paramedic for 16 years and always tried to correlate nights with lots of psych calls to a full moon. I never really have been able to form a connection. There's been nights where I've said "must be a full moon" and it was, and then nights where i've said that and it wasn't.

I can say though, being bipolar, that the couple of times in my life when I didn't take my meds I definitely did feel "different" when there was a nearly full or full moon. Not anything I could put my finger on, but I could just tell when it was a full moon by the strange way I felt.

Nod to the Still Life reference, there are more children born around a full moon and before artificial light, all women....the moon is an integral part of our life, zodiac aside.

Lower animals respond to it predictably enough we higher animals can plan our hunting and fishing trips around moon phases.

While we may be a bit more complicated in some aspects, at the end of the day we are still animals, so why would we be immune to something all other animals on the planet are influenced by?

So much more of nature is influenced by the moon than just animals...

Fully aware of that, but last I checked I don't think very many people hunt moon flower for food or sport, or need to worry much about which moon phase will be best for harvesting row crops in order to obtain maximum yield.

On the other hand, those who hunt nightshade (should) know to only do so on moonless nights so one can take it unaware, and to keep a burlap sack handy to muffle it's screams when it's wrenched from the earth.

And let's not forget tides, all directly influenced by the moon. And the phenom known in these parts as a jubilee, a night when sea creatures of all kinds try to beach themselves. Also a direct result of the influence of the moon.

I was influenced by the moon this evening. I was out in the yard doing some cleanup and dragging stuff to a burn pile. It was a perfect example of a "red sky at night, sailors delight" as the setting sun (below the horizon) was painting a raft of low running clouds a beautiful shade of fiery reddish orange. In the middle of all that fire was a cloud back lit by an early rising full moon which gave it a greenish halo effect. While marveling at this and dragging an old branch at the same time, I tripped and fell.

I have noticed some odd things happening on days with a full moon lately... For example last full moon I took a rusty knife and went out on a killing spree. A little odd don't you think?

If you came around our place, you'd see me in my shorts and Carhartt jacket walking my dog through the woods and bushes around 10PM. No flashlight needed. I love it!
