I was doing a six nighter with Phil Driscoll (a moderately famous trumpet player/singer) at the Chase, and living there for free (not many/any of those gigs these days). After a couple years, the only people you knew of the opposite sex were nurses working the evening or night shift and waitresses. At my age back then, that was actually a good thing! |
