It's really to much hate, negativity and disrespect here at tb.

Simple things turn more and more into flame fests.

Many members can't post in a thread with out throwing insults

And the level of hate displayed toward some members is beyond comprehension.

Why is it so hard to have a mature discussion?

The level of disrespect has really gotten old.

I find TB much better in those regards than in other public forums I've had the misfortune to join.

Blocking users who upset you can help.

Being a member of a public forum exposes you to people who have different attitudes and levels of respect (and maturity) than yourself.

I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you didn't already know but, like it or not, your post is not likely to change anything here and neither is mine

I found TB to be a very inviting community and a home away from home. Barely ever do I witness disrespect and when I do, it is settled fast. Also realize some people just have bad days and like to vent and take it out on others. It's the internet for god's sake. Have some thick skin and don't let someone else cut you down.

I can see why you would say that but there are worse places here on the interwebs that are much, much worse. TB, in itself, is a great community with great members. However, there is the occasional misfit or troll that likes to usurp his own self-served authority in their postings over someone who may not be as knowledgeable or as keen on TB etiquette as the rest. Those posts usually stick out more than the ones that are great. It really depends on which forum you hang out in too. Some attract more trolls than others.

Disrespect? Negativity? Ha! You`re just getting soft in your old age!

But honestly, a lot of people always have to be right and some people(much like my brother) seem to want to start stuff just because they can(even if they don`t believe the view point they take). It`s childish, immature, but hey that`s life.

I've always appreciated your perspective Jauqo, even if I don't always agree with you. Still, with that said, I'll always share a beer with you, no matter how heated the words. I hope this is always understood.

Still I've seen you take some heat on these boards, some of it uninvited, and I must say some of it provoked. Some people in my opinion are just not worth poking. There's nothing you're gonna say that's going change their minds, opinions, or perspective. Your energy is better spent putting out funky bass grooves.

JAUQO, honestly you bring a lot of it on yourself. You post threads all the time, with titles like "what if", "is it really", "is there such a thing as"; and then the thread is like some random bubble of your imagination, with nothing in your post to explain what you mean or why you're asking; and then when people ask you what you mean, or they crack wise about the vague or inflammatory nature of your thread, then you get upset.

I know in the last thread you said something like "if you don't like my posts then don't come in", and that's fair, but you seem to be baiting everyone, and hoping for responses that are not reasonable to expect from those baited posts.

Maki me asking questions and asking hypothetical questions is not provoking.

Bongo Exactly. If they have an issue with me or my threads or posts they shouldn't participate. Especially if all they have plans to do is take cheap shots.

I don't bait any one. My threads are no different from the many other threads started on tb. People take it upon themselves to do what they do when they enter the threads.

The bottom line is I don't disrespect tb members.

I've found in my life that if, I keep having the same problem over and over again with different people, the source of the problem is rarely them it's usually me.

As a long time lurker, it seems as though when you post threads that are questions, you dont really wan't any answers that differ from your own opinion and when someone does the other person is immediately at fault, (incompetant, a racist, ignorant) in your eyes.

But when it comes down to it, only you can change the situation for yourself, no one else is going to change to appease you, and since this is a public forum for open discussion everyone has the right to post in whatever thread they feel like. Provided they don't break the rules.

And yet you want their respect? If you don't like it, why not leave? Time is too important to waste being mad at people over the internet.

While I see a bit of it, there really is no one here I wouldn't be willing to share a dram of Lagivullen with. But I can think of another forum where that is certainly not the case.

Speaking of Lagivullen, are you going to be at NAMM? I got my tickets a couple of days ago?

It's the off topic board on an internet forum.

I disagree. This must be by far the most civil and polite forum on the interwebz, and much better than any other I'm a member on.

(And I just beat the pokemaniac with Cubone and Slowpoke right before entering Lavender Town with using any potions or anything through the Rock Tunnel!!!!!!)

It only appears as polite because rules are so strict and prevent the use of bad words and insults.
For the rest, smugness and self-proclaimed knowledge rule pretty much every discussion on the board. You find this scheme on many if not all boards but it's exceptionally powerful on TB. The same characters repeat again and again.
Gifted free minds getting bashed every time their opinion differs from the crowd.
So alled
Search nazis, to the point of killing any new thread they open without even taking time to read the question.
Sycophants defending the most commonly admitted ideas on the forums, refusing anything else until the trend changes, especially hateful toward free minds.
Forum librarists giving advice on subjects about which they are clueless, regurgitating what they read elsewhere on the forum and passing it as knowledge without testing it themselves. Sometimes they are sycophants too and become really annoying.
Fake open-mindness preaching tolerance and respect while really being sour and mean under the hood.
Kids (they can be 40 yo though) bashing any artist who isn't their role model.
The list goes on and on.

"I've never seen so many babies in my life. Always looking to take a cheap shot and complain like little girls along the way.

This the sort of post you're talking about? It should be.

Pay attention to the part in bold.

People are gonna disagree, and it doesn't help matters when the way in which you attempt to have a "conversation" frustrates people.
