We don't have all the heavy duty snow plows to clear the streets. So it really does affect us differently. |

Maybe, but having lived in both worlds, (Adirondack NNY native ) I think southern folks get the last and best laugh, enjoy a few days of winter, and back to normal in a few days. Glad to be at home today, was working outside during NE blizzard of '78. I'll laugh with ya. |

That's a whole 'nother ballgame. When we get heavy snow, for the most part, it's just snow."

There are plenty of trucks, plenty of salt, experienced crew and a proven snow removal plan. Our topography is flat for the most part. But if we get heavy snow during rush hour and the plows are tied up, everything pretty much goes haywire. There was a storm about 5 years ago where my normal 1 hour drive home took 5 hours. I wised up and moved closer to work.

It's really weird, while all sorts of places worldwide are getting record snowfalls, here in Ottawa this is our second really mild winter in a row. Not complaining mind you Just that it is weird. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
