I just got my new laptop today. It's my first 15" screen, and I'm loving it to death.
And in case you're interested, it's a Dell XPS M1530, so I can take my gaming with me to college.

I'm actually going to dual boot Vista and Fedora. I don't really have any problem with Vista, but I think the added security of a Linux platform will be really handy in a college setting.

My last laptop was a 14" widescreen. Good stuff! |

Now, I'm not even gonna touch the Mac vs. PC thing, apples and oranges, but I think if you aren't a computer moron, you can really get some serious bang for your buck from dell.

Less paying for the brand name and more paying for what you actually get. IMO xps dells are both over rated and way overpriced.

And I still don't know what everyone's problem with Vista is? The only really annoying thing I found so far is that sometimes it refuses to let me move or delete some files. I found a program to deal with that, and have had no more problems.

It functions well but little things are wrong with it (and always were). I can't get the "y" key to work on that for anything... you have to pound it to get it out.
My HP has worse stats, but I prefer its feel...
Congrats to the OP and welcome to the world of laptops. Now you can just sit in bed all day and browse TB.

Or the insanely picky ones. If it was THAT bad you'd think people would spend the what...$100? on XP.

I love it.
I have one gig of ram, and Vista just sucks too many resources.
I'm normally pretty anti-download, but couldn't justify spending $100 on a downgrade.
