it's time to buy a watch.

after 15 years my trusty timex quit on me. im pretty sure that it is just a dead battery but im ready for something different and less digital.

i was thinking of getting something a bit more classy too, but i dont know much about watches.

who makes a decent watch in the $85-$130 price range. nothing too flashy, and pocket watches are also an option.

ive heard bad reviews, but more on the side of fossil watches breaking when dropped and whatnot. in order for my new watch to be on par with the dollar to years it accurately told time I would have to be buried with it on. on second thought maybe a shinier timex is in my future

Fossil or nothing for me. I get a new one yearly and keep the old ones. Still working perfectly.

Citizen is the watch company for me.

(my current fancy watch).

They have plenty great watches, and were voted best in the UK for the third (I think) year running this year, if that means anything to you

I've got a Fossil that my Dad bought me when i think i was a freshman in high school [2001] & it is still working great. I just had the battery replaced last year. It's got a square face w/just stainless steel slashes for numbers w/a black face. I like it a lot. I think it was right at the low end of your range.

I have had the same Swiss Army pocket watch for about 10 years. A wrist watch just never felt comfortable to me.

If you want a step up from Seiko, Citizen and other very competent watches, consider Tissot. Swiss made, but it does not carry the inflated price tags of TAG Heuer and Rolex.

Check these PRS 200 models out: (vendor web page link)

I have no connection to the vendor, just thought you could get a pretty good look at options on the PRS 200 moedl. They make a lot of nice watches.

Here's mine:

And are they durable? The Tissot dive watch I bought in 1971 works very nicely, thank you:

I've got a Skagen watch which I love. I paid $80 for it and it's absolutely beautiful. It's thin, too, which means comfort and an attractive appearance.

I got my fossil like 7 years ago, changed batteries twice. And I beat that watch a lot. I mean, I went snowboarding, downhill biking, beach volley ball and it is far from dieing.

I've had a Momentus mountaineers watch for about eight years. Not expensive and totally trustworthy.

In that range I would go with a Seiko or spend a little more for a Marcello. When funds permit, I'd send it in to Mr Yao for some custom parts.
