iTunes 8 and iPhone firmware update

Sign in to disble this ad
I downloaded iTunes 8 today. I can't be the only person who noticed that the new "Grid" view is pretty much what MS does with the album sorting on Windows Media Player except WMP has always been much better at finding album covers on its own IMO. I'm glad they added this though. I've always preferred that type of layout and it's way more practical than the cover flow view. Cover flow looks cool but I've always been pretty "meh" about it practically speaking.

What do ya'll think about Genius? I'm glad to see it. Always looking for new bands. Basically I'll go over and look for their suggestions on emusic.com. I rarely buy anything from iTunes.

I'm glad they updated in general. The last version of iTunes was causing a conflict with iPhone apps and I had to roll back to get my apps to work. I'm excited about the iPhone firmware update coming on friday...Jobs says there will be a big battery life increase....allegedly. I wish they had changed the programming to increase the functionality of the GPS. Word is that they may be working on turn-by-turn for a future update or future iphone release.

Itunes has always had the grid view, it is just the default on 8 now.

Really? I never noticed it before. Why is Apple talking like it's a new thing?

I've never noticed that before. Hm. Just looks like iPhoto, basically.

I'll update in a few days. No rush.

I am sure that you can do that on older versions, maybe not.

I have the feeling that all the review sites and Apple would not be touting it as a new feature if you could.

They had a feature similar to grid, but not like they have it now.

Nope. Still no cut and paste...or at least no mention of it.

One of my biggest gripes is the inability to send photos via SMS.

I mostly hate just not being able to forward via SMS.
