And I find it ugly
Home sharing is really nice, though. As is the new App store look.
But that white background and shiny shiny interface doesn't cut it for me.

I think I still have like 8.4 or something, but I was very happy with 7 or even the ones prior to that.

HOORAY
If history is any indication, this new one will be seriously flawed. Why should it be any different from its pedecesors.
I'll take my sweet time before I upgrade, and doing my homework before the switch.

You might want to back up your music library though...

I don't know how it looks on Windows now.

So far no bugs or crashes. It plays music and that's all I do with it anyway. I haven't updated my iPod since the upgrade but when I do I'll let you guys know.

I don't know how it looks on Windows now. | This is weird, but I like iTunes on windows better than on Mac. Don't ask me why. It's just a thing...

ANAPOD EXPLORER (to manage ipod files) and FUBAR (for conversion and playback [or vlc... both good]). i have said this many times, but i will keep doing it in every thread where itunes is mentioned. itunes seriously is garbage. i repeat: garbage. it is not a good program. it is seriously NOT a good program.
sorry to crap on your thread, but i will up my fiber intake to keep the crap flowing as needed. no praise for itunes, EVER. |

I'm not ready to put a minimum of 25$ in a program that ignores the "." at the beginning of Unix folders. I can do that myself

But I uninstall Quicktime. vlc does that just as good.

(ive been meaning to set up unix on a gateway network computer, but ive never used it and have thus far been too lazy.) Quote:

But I uninstall Quicktime. vlc does that just as good. | i would really check out FUBAR, as i stated above. its free, and you can snag free codecs to convert files, and it rips music just as well as itunes without that bandwidth and ram usage i mentioned.
also, good call on vlc. it is better than quicktime. to be honest, the best player i have found is the one that comes with NERO. i have found this by trying different video formats on various players, and by throwing damaged or incomplete files into players. some can handle them, some cant. its a pretty easy test, but i really like vlc. the free part is cool. nero isnt free, but again, for the internet savvy... i wont get into that either.
i base my opinions partly on my experience, information from friends who are very very computer savvy, from computer forums and reviews from others. maybe my anapod/fubar combo isnt the #1 way to do it, but i have yet to find a better way, and ive been told its the way to go and that works for me. i like it. it works, and it DOES NOT use as many computer resources as itunes, and you definitely can do more with other programs. |

| | | I use iTunes, but then again I'm on a Mac. I did not use iTunes when I used Windows, but the Mac experience is much better. And with 4GB of RAM, iTunes being a resource hog doesn't matter. I also have VLC, though Quicktime X looks snazzy so I've been using that lately.
