Itunes store question

Sign in to disble this ad
I have never used the itunes store, but one of my favorite artists just released an album and it is only available on itunes. I know that itunes has started to offer downloads in ALAC (apple lossless), how do I find those files or how do I know that those are the ones that I am downloading? I found the album that I want, but it doesn't say what the quality is.

Well if you can only buy it from iTunes, it doesn't really matter what the quality is - you'll just have to put up with whatever they give you...

Not 100% sure, but I think you just have to look for a little "+" icon that will appear in front of the price. The + means "iTunes Plus", which is their DRM-free, 256kbps format.

256 isn't good enough. I thought that they added the ACLC format (1020ish kbs) for some releases.
