I personally would love a Viking cremation: the body is on a draft with inflammable materials, the draft is pushed in the ocean with archers with flaming arrows shooting on the draft, putting it on fire.

The 72-year-old actor has become fascinated with the traditional sky burials carried out by some Native Americans which involve the deceased's body being hung from a tree or wooden scaffold and being left for scavengers.
| I thought the sky burial was a [Tibetan] Buddhist practice.

Actually, just being left out in the woods to let nature do her stuff wouldn't be a bad way to go.
Getting embalmed, displayed for people to mourn over, then planted in the ground for eternity (or at least until developers buy your resting place and put up a CVS!!) just seems more morbid to me than letting nature take it's course.

I always liked Nicholson, and it somehow seems fitting he would be eaten by buzzards. |

In Tibet they usually chop the body into pieces at the "burial ground" and also crush the bones and mix them in with the brains etc. so that all of the body is consumed. Since the Chinese occupation I don't know if it's practiced as much anymore.

Somehow Jack Nicholson's requests don't seem quite as strange.
