So I have an iphone. It's great. Except one thing. I can't receive or send photos via text messaging. That and I can't edit my calendar without synching to my laptop. Does Jailbreak allow me to solve these things? Are there apps for the iphone that I can download after I unlock it? Or does Jailbreak screw the phone up? |

| | | | I have both an Ipod Touch and an Iphone that I unlocked (jailbreak) myself, I am using TMobile I can't really tell if it let's you send pics via SMS, what I know is that it would allow sending them thru email. If you want more info regarding Jailbreaking let me know, its pretty easy you should by all means do it! |

Then I started reading about bricked phones and just successfully restored it. I need some kind of directions. I still want to do it. |

i do all the time. | Nevermind I figured that one out after I posted it. The biggest thing is the pic and text thing. Wife wanted to send me a pic of our son yesterday and I couldn't get it. Then I realized I couldn't send her one either and that's what put me to where I am now. |

The easy way to do it is to find a copy of 1.1.1 firmware and install it. Then go to jailbreakme.com, and it will automatically do the process for you.
There's other ways to jailbreak your iPhone for other firmware versions, but this seems to be the easiest. |

That is really weird that you can't send pictures, after all it has a camera. I am sure that you can do it, that would be really stupid if you couldn't. I would reset it, jailbreak it and see how things go.

i have an iphone but i am slightly nervous about the jailbreaking thing. i really don't want to have a brick, then deal with unbricking and all that nonsense. the new software update for iphone is coming in june and that will probably change the way the phone operates. there will be aim chat on there and also whatever other applications developers feel like making. very cool stuff brewing
