Wowzer. 6 billion dollars for a camera in a million mile high orbit.
Can't wait to see what delights it sends back....but it's a 2018 launch date |

This is the least "loaded" article (just the facts, ma'am) I could find in a quick search.* Congress Comes Closer to Killing NASA's James Webb Telescope *I DO NOT intend to steer this into a political debate. Keep yours to yourself. |

Should we use our resources to learn as much as we can about the universe around us? There are other celestial bodies out there to get resources from as well, once we get to them.
Or should we horde everything and wait for the sun to grow huge and red and reduce this planet to a frizzled black rock where nothing is worth anything? |

As for bombs, trust me, there is nothing we could EVER create that could compare to a good focused dose of gamma radiation from an exploding star only a hundred lightyears away or so. The universe laughs at our childish attempts to destroy! |
