Jerry Garcia's Travis Bean guitar for sale on the EvilBay. Comes with amp, strap, jacket and Jerry's top hat.
Now, if I only had $325,000 I could buy it now. http://cgi.ebay.com/1976-Travis-Bean...item230a5335d9

And it makes sense that the guitar could have ended up with Parish. I don't see why the Dead would be selling guitars though. Or why someone would use Ebay for something like this. |

when i was recording with my last dead band in california before i moved here, the bass player, who had the studio, pulled one of those out for a track i was doing. he told me a strange story about how he got the guitar that basically ended with his "figuring out" that it was one of jerry's. i guess any old, travis bean gtr probly has a hopeful story attached to it. i couldn't get used to the neck and ended up using a strat.
where is rosebud anyway?

I got a message from Bob Matthews a while back looking for info on his TB bass, which IIRC Jerry had given him way back when. He wasn't looking to sell it, but for some reason he thought I might know where Jerry got it from. Even Beans with no celebrity connection seem to be going for fairly big numbers these days. |

so, when do i get it? | That would be a tough one for me - for sentimental and historical reasons I'd like to own the Tiger guitar, but for functional reason I'd like to own Rosebud.
Fortunately I don't have enough extra stuff to sell off to finance either one, so at least I'm saved from Jerry guitar buying GAS
