The Roots rock all right!
But this guy Jimmy Fallon I don't find it funny. He seems either nervous or the jokes are plain dumb.
I tried watching the show many times, but after 15 min I am done.
Maybe this show is for a younger generation. |

That's my general opinion as well. He's not great, but he's not too bad, and I definitely see progress. Of course, it helps he has the best band in all of late night tv.
This coming from a guy who pretty much hated majority of his SNL work. At least he doesn't have to worry about breaking character on a talk show.
Untill Conan comes back, I'll probably be paying more attention to my #2 guy though, Jimmy Kimmel.

he cant deliver a punchline (despite most of them being hilarious), and his entire show is based around sucking questlove's **** and playing games with his guests. hes actually funnier when hes not trying to be funny.
it DID take conan a couple years to grow into what he is now, and ill hold back hating fallon entirely until he's had a little time. but hes been on tv a while, and he wasnt funny then either. hes just BARELY better than carson daly.
a pox on nbc.

I'm a little biased to Late Night, considering my sense of humor was practically formed by Conan on Late Night, but since Coco's not on the Tonight Show anymore, I just may have to watch Jimmy (certainly not going to watch Leno, he used to spoil Conan for me by making me fall asleep!). Craig Ferguson is a worthy backup too.
Jimmy's funniest moment yet has been his Neil Young impression- I cracked up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2WfUzNYPwo

It hurt to watch how bad his jokes were and how poorly he tried to execute them. That said, he has been improving some and I think he could end up being a good host in a few years... but I wouldn`t be surprised if NBC dropped him before that could happen. |

You have to enjoy the new generation of humor, so not everyone will like him. I tried liking Leno but I couldn't stand all of his sex jokes and creepy attraction to all the younger ladies on the show.
