John Turner = inspiration for Hellboy character in movie adaptation?

Just saw Hellboy (in part) for the first time last night. You know, I think Ron Perlman may have modeled his performance of Hellboy on John Turner...

No way. Hellboy is red. Everybody knows that anyone who's a big fan of/plays prog rock is a pure pasty white from never being exposed to sunlight.

This, naturally, is to fool anyone who spots the similarity.

That's the creative licensing. If Hellboy was pasty white, JT would've been able to sue for character defamation.

That big hand would be convenient when playing a 7 string bass.

Need any more proof?
They obviously took artistic license and used JT's infamous red shirt as an inspiration for Hellboy's red skin.

I figured they were going to use the puffy shirt as an excuse to dress Hellboy in full pirate regalia in the next movie, Hellboy At Sea.

As soon as I saw someone make reference to the red skin color, I was hoping that the puffy shirt picture would emerge.
