Just ditched FF for Chrome

I finally got sick of Firefox always screwing up downloads and making me change save locations for downloaded programs. I tried all the fixes known, and it consistently reverted back to problematic behaviors!

Now that I can use Adblock with Chrome, FF is gone for good.

I love FF. I tried Chrome once and the bald patches from where I pulled my hair out in frustration have finally filled back in...
the only other one I like is Opera

I tried Chrome before and couldn't get into it. This time around I gave it more time though, 'cause I'm just that fed up with FF. It is growing on me nicely... Like a fungus.

I switched to Chrome after I found out about the "Chrome to Phone" app for the Droid.

I like how I had to fix Firefox's memory leak myself, something they could have done just as easily. But I use SRWare Iron, which is Chrome - Google.

Cool. I don't have my Droid rooted and I'm not running Froyo. When I get the upgrade I have to check it out.

I like opera. Its like Firefox without the issues, and Chrome without big brother watching you.

And yes, I'm being completely serious, Google is watching what you do in chrome all the time, even in your "private-browsing" moments. I think I read that Google was using the info collected to make the internet adapt to you (like with pop-ups and ads), and for use with their new OS and tied-in apps and the like.

tl,dr. Opera is where its at.

Re: Big Brother, that was and has been a concern, so I'm actually not using Chrome, but Iron. Chrome is open source, so there are alternatives. Iron is based on Chrome, so I figured it would be easier to just say Chrome on here. I'm technically using SRWare Iron. None of the privacy concerns of Chrome!

Ahh, ok. I was joking and being serious at the same time. Google is really delving into some bad practices as a corporation.

So how is Iron?

OK, I'm D/L'ing Iron, I'll give it a try. In their comments I found this funny smiley:

Grrr.... dammit! Iron is not compatible with older versions of OSX. I'm at 10.4.1 and not going any farther, with this box. Oh well. I'll try it on my PC--though it's Win 7, and Iron's site only mentions earlier versions of Windows!

I also just ditched FF for Chrome.

I was sick of the memory leaks. It's not cool having to reboot the laptop in the middle of work because all the memory is gone to that damn browser.

I used FF until version 3 then I dropped it instantly in favor of chrome and opera, opera mostly.
