My wife surprised me with an early Christmas present (I think she was afraid I was going to go get one on my own).
I got an 8GB ipod touch. I've had it since Saturday, and it delivers. It's a man-toy. I'm 32, and most of my colleagues are older than me, and they have been nuts over this thing today. It is all Apple said that it was and more. The biggest thing for me is that it has full iCal functionality, and is my new PDA.
Anyone else got one yet? |

Full iCal functionality, does this mean you can easily add calendar events?

The only thing that would make it perfect is if you could choose which calendar to file it in when you input it. Now you just have to change it on your computer when you sync it.
The internet part is great. It's the real internet, not some lame version for cell phones.
I'm loving this thing. I have had multiple people say that they couldn't believe it really does all the stuff like the commercial shows.
This is a dream for mac lovers who have a different cell phone service for their job (like me), because it is a palm pilot for mac, essentially. |

Can you sync all your contact info to it (e-mail addys, phone #)? I may opt for one of these OVER the iPhone since there's no extra plan needed to operate it. But I'll likely wait for the 2nd Gen.

The very first ones that shipped had a much more limited set of functions than the current ones. In my mind I considered the iPhone itself a first generation of the itouch to work out bugs.
I love it. |

I realize you're really getting your money's worth with all the features, but it's still out of my price range. I'll keep fiddling with my DS lite and iPod mini for a few more years.

I've got over 800 songs on there, along with a host of pictures, and two videos and I still have half of the space left. I really can't envision a time when I'll need more than that.
