15 minutes ago, yellow jacket stung me just inside my left earhole. Took 1 Benedryl capsule, applied ice, hurts like hell. This really sucks.

If you are allergic, get some help. I guess if youre not allergic all I can say is 'Quit yer bitchin'. I was stung on a regular basis as a child.

I'm allergic to those things. Not in a fatal way (so far) but enough to never want to get stung again.

We had an outdoor gig at the ballpark several years ago. While I was playing, one of those little bastages climbed up the leg of my shorts, decided he didn't like it up there and stung me. Not too big a deal, it hurt but I kept on playing. Then I noticed the top of my head getting all tingly. No big deal, so I kept playing.......

For about three weeks I had a dark purple golf ball sized lump in my pants. Man! That thing hurt and just would not go away!

How's your breathing? Does your head tingle?

OW man! I'm assuming you aren't allergic. I've been stung before on the back of the neck. Not as painful as inside the ear or inside the pants, but it hurt pretty good haha

OP just needs chicken noodle soup and a bedtime story; he'll be fine.

I was once stung in the back of the neck by one of these things. The mix of funny tingling dizziness and pain is strange.

Also: you got what?

I was riding my bike a few years ago and a yellow jacket flew into my mouth and stung me inside my bottom lip. I sped home and got some ice cubes out and chewed on them for about 45 minutes. Took care of the pain and swelling pretty well and didn't really have a problem.

Blond: What are those? (pointing)
Phalex: Golf balls
Blond: Is that anything like tennis elbow?

All better now. Luckily I am not allergic to stings. Funny thing though, late last night my ear still felt really plugged up and was still hurting pretty good. My wife took a good look and the bee's head was still in my ear. I probably pushed it in a ways when I squashed it to get it out. She retrieved the damn thing and I swabbed the inside with hydrogen peroxide.

Now, lets not repeat this episode, boy.

I got hit with about 40 stings when I was rafting in the Potomac River. I was getting dressed with nothing on except my pants when I was attempting to put my socks on. I sat on a log but it cracked so I stood up and hopped around all while trying to put a sock on. That's when I heard a huge buzzing sound and started getting nailed on my back and neck, a total of around 40 times. I was still barefoot but I had to get away from those things so I ran up a railroad track that was about 30 ft. in the air. the only problem with that was that the side of the tracks was lined with huge baseball sized rocks and I was barefoot.

That day sucked.

OP is lucky it was only one that stung him. My experiences with yellow jackets usually ended with multiple stings. I'm not allergic, but they do hurt.

I got stung by a bee in the palm of my hand while fueling my car for what was a 7-hour, nonstop drive. I had to drive one-handed most of way, and my hand swelled.

The bee had landed on the gas pump nozzle. Of all places. And it was right where I had to put my hand to take it out of the car.
