Grats! I didn't "officially" graduate, since I'm homeschooled, but I'm done. Taking the GED when I turn 18 (stupid state won't let me take it before)

Does college loom on the horizon, or are you charging straight into a career from here?

No ****! I didn't know that you were that young and home schooled. I graduated with a home school diploma last year.

You better go to college young man because if you don't you'll hate the job you get. I know I do.

Seriously? Pretty wild, the people you meet here.

I'm wondering if it will even be worth the trouble. I don't even have a GED yet, and I was able to get into community college with my SAT scores and transcripts from my courses/books alone.

Yup serious. Was home schooled from the 5th grade on.

If you can get your associates from the community college before you move on to a traditional college, it might not. You might want to check with whatever college you plan on attending afterwords. (if you are planing on going)

Yeah, it should be fine.

I wasn't able to get into the college I wanted to because I didn't have the language credits (the official ones, anyway: I spent some time with Rosetta Stone during high school years), so I should be able to get the ancillary credits out of the way at Comm College, then do the full Music Comp. master's program at the college I want to graduate from.

Huh. Only since freshman year for me. Even at only the half the time you spent being homeschooled, I still got quite a good share of funny questions about why I was outside during school hours.

I worked 2-3 days a week during my junior and senior year. That and played in the local youth symphony. People pretty much stopped asking me why once I was driving myself. Guess they figured I was a drop out or something.

Congrats...it only gets harder from here...

I've walked the stage 3 times (high school, college, masters), and the only things I have to show are some sheets of paper and tons of loans to repay

It's definitely college for me guys. I've heard mixed stories but I figure that's what's best for me. I'll be going to UMBC (University of Maryland County). It wasn't my first choice... actually I didn't have a first choice but basically I'm heading there cuz they gave me the most money. We'll see how it all works out i guess. I plan on having fun and working hard because I definitely don't want to look back on my college days and hate them.

UMBC, I had some friends that went there. I went to HS in Severn, MD., but moved to Indiana 3 months later. My dad worked at NSA all through my middle and high school days. We lived in Severna park and then in Severn for the 5 year stretch I was in Maryland.

Again, congrats and behave yourself in college.

On my ceremony, when I got my diploma I turned to the audience, raised my diploma and yelled "12 YEARS,12 YEARS!!!"...Good times.

I thought It'd be over after 12 years though.
