When you can't have what you want, want something else.

Hmmm. Assuming that you've tried everything else to keep the relationship civil (these things require a little give, a little take), I'd ask to talk to the head correctional officer on your cell block. If this gets you nowhere, write the Warden.

No. You are an ignorant fool.
Beat them with a bar of soap in a sock while they are sleeping, knock their teeth out (so they can't bite you) and take their food every day till they do what you want.

I thought we were trying to keep this civil while at "home"? If he wanted to end it, I'd have suggested he sharpen his toothbrush and shank him in a staged yard fight while the tear gas is obstructing the view of any witnesses.

How do I keep home together when I don't want to talk to them?

A little thing I learned from a movie called Misery and that, my friend, is called hobbling.

It's hard dude. My brother and I seldom talk, despite attempts to convince him that blood is thicker than everything... but he won't listen. I know your pain, and wish you the best.

I have made it very clear to everyone who knows me well that I will drop off the face of the earth sometimes, for indefinite periods up to months or years, and it's up to them to accept or reject me on that basis. Talkbass has been about the only consistent "place of communication" for me for a couple of years now, and even that only suits me because it's easy to hold everyone on the internet at a soothing distance even when "communicating".

I figure as long as I am clear and honest with friends and family about my tendency to not communicate for long periods, then there is nothing wrong with that.

Its hard to be motivated to communicate at home when your life is so stressfull and exausting when you just want to be left alone at home.

It can be on the net - but real communication one-to-one (and not just talking/mouthing platitudes) can never be!

When you don't want to communicate maybe look for the thing you did to them, or the thing they did to you. Both are the only reasons people stop communicating. Everything else is just excuses.

If I'm not in great shape after a long day...at the least, I want to let my partner know:

1) I'm basically ok.
2) I just don't feel like talking.
3) It's not her.

But maintaining relationships sometimes means talking when I don't feel like it. For example, if my partner is not in good shape, I want to be help...so I deal.

No interest in communicating with a person at home for months? That seems odd to me.

My close friends and family are busy people too and know I'm busy so we have an understanding that long periods of communication don't signify problems necessarily...it just means that we're busy. Of course, for me, the "kid excuse" goes a long way.

Lose all interest... NOT Loose all interest...

You loosen a rope or knot...

you lose interest
