Found that amusing. Anyway, if there's a pro kickball league, that also means there's a league rulebook somewhere. My guess is that THAT might have thrown out the "out by throw" rule in favor of more baseball like rules. I'll try to see if I can dig up a link to a rulebook and post it here.
